panel-job-interview-istock-115276981.jpegSo how to be confident in interviews or how to be confident in job interviews? I'm gonna give you five tips on how to do this. That's what people do in these kind of videos, right? Okay, number one, practice, first of all, practice by yourself, go on the internet, go get a bunch of common job interview questions. And a lot of other questions that they might throw you and figure out what you're going to say, figure out what the best answers are, and then practice them, rehearse them until you have them memorize. Then once that's done, and that's gonna take days and days and days to do this, then practice with another person. This person could be your best friend. They could be your spouse, partner. They could be a parent or sibling, whoever you find loathing around, tell them really help me out. If you could do some Mark interviews with me, some pretend job interviews, they interview you. It's a rehearsal for the real thing.

Now don't just do this once. Do this for days and days and days until you have it down, until they've asked you every possible question that anybody can think of. You've crushed it. Practice makes perfect. I'm sure you've heard that. That's how you get good at something. And interviewing for jobs is no different. Nobody is just instantly good at it. You have to prepare, you have to practice. And when you do, you get some serious ability. When you have some ability, the confidence follows, trust me on this. One number two, be friendly, smile, be upbeat, be polite, and trying be personable. Because if you do these things, it's normal human behavior that they do them back to you.

When you go to the job interview and their friendly and their upbeat and their polite and all that kind of stuff, that makes you feel good about the whole experience and you feel more confident. So that's a good tip. Always remember that. Now, here we go number three, I'm gonna drop a truth bomb on you here. No recruiters ever gonna tell you this, but I'm gonna tell you this because I was a manager and an executive and aceo and I teach recruiters in university. Like i've never stopped saying on this channel and i've hired and fired recruiters. Here's the deal. A lot of recruiters don't have the first clue, but how to do their job, and they're not very good at it. Now, obviously, there are a few good ones, but hell of a lot of them are not. And those of you that have done a lot of job interviews, what I'm talking about on Top of this, a lot of recruiters are unprofessional when it comes to dealing with candidates and somewhat rude.

Now, in most cases, this is not intentional, and they don't realize that they're being unprofessional and rude when they are, but it comes from a lack of communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Now, one would think the people who decide to go into human resources, will you deal with people as your main line of work? You would think that. These people would be good at dealing with people. Some of them are but a, lot of them are not. Now, why am I telling you this sounds very negative? Sounds like a real doubt. I'm telling you because you need to expect this so that if it happens, you are expecting it, it doesn't, it doesn't knock you out of stride. It doesn't knock you for six if you're British. Right? You feel at ease, you maintain your confidence. If you're expecting this and it happens, hey, that was all part of the plan. And you might even have rehearsed for what to do and how to respond in some of these situations. That's even better. Number four, everyone starts somewhere, okay? Nobody just starts being as instantly good. Everyone is nervous in a job interview to some degree. Now, as we get older, some of us never really lose that nervousness when we go to job interviews. Okay, so the, one thing you can be guaranteed is that everyone has been nervous. Everyone is going to be nervous to a certain degree.

Now, if you're about to have a job interview and you got that weird, queasy feeling, you got butterflies in your stomach, maybe your hands are sweating, this kind of thing, okay? That feeling, that's what every other candidate is feeling, and some of them are feeling a lot worse than you, because they didn't prepare the way you did.

Okay, so just remember that should give you a bit of confidence. A lot of times people fear the worst. They fear that all know all the other candidates are crushing in and I'm not. That's fantasy. They're all feeling just the same as you are and, in most cases, even worse. So that should make you feel hopefully a little better. Okay. Now, finally, number five. Now, there's no better way, then to feel confident, then to have other interviews lined up, as just a fact so if, you're going for a job interview and you got two or three other job interviews scheduled for the later that week. That's gonna make you feel pretty good. And on Top of that, if you have interactions going with hiring managers and recruiters, that are other leads that could turn into interviews that makes you feel better.

So it means that this interview matters less. Therefore, most people will be slightly less nervous, and i'll have more confidence. So what can you do? Never stop the process of Discovery and application for jobs. I don't care if you're on your third interview, and you think a job offer is imminent, never stop looking and applying for jobs, because the more things you have lined up, the better you're gonna feel, the more confident you will be it's, just that simple. So those are my five tips. Now I always say this, but I need it, especially today. Always remember this. You are awesome, and especially if you prepare, especially if you're improving yourself, you're gonna be crushing it. And sooner or later, hopefully sooner, it'll work out. It'll work. So thank you for your attention.
